SY 58 NE LITTLEBREDY LITTLEBREDY VILLAGE

3/140 Orchard Cottage

GV II

Detached Cottage. Early C18 with C19 alterations. Random rubble-stone walls with
stone quoins. Thatch roof with gable-ends. Brick stacks at centre ridge, and at
right hand gable. 2 storeys. 4 windows, 2-light wooden casements with glazing-
bars. Wooden cills and lintels. Storage space (loft) upper left. Ground floor
left hand, former stables, now with 3 blockings with wooden lintels over. Front
door at right hand ground, plank, C19. Weatherboarded porch with pitched slate
roof over. Interior ceiling-beam with straight-chamfer and filleted stop, early
C18. Fireplace in north end, with kitchen-range, renewed version. Cupboards
with plank doors and IL hinges either side of fireplace. Doorcase stair on rear
wall. Attached outbuilding at left hand end, privy and wood-store, with brick
quoins and door jambs, tile roof over. Plank doors.
