Description

COLDRIDGE COLDRIDGE
SS 60 NE
1/30
- The Post Office
GV II

House, probably originally 2 houses. Probably C18 with C19 alterations. Plastered
cob or rubble; stone rubble stacks topped with C19 and C20 brick; thatch roof.
5-room range facing north with a right (west) end stack and 2 axial stacks. It is
likely that the right 2 rooms once formed a separate house and the adjoining 2
rooms formed another with a stables or cartshed at left end (now a garage).
2 storeys. Irregular 5-window front. The left end has a symmetrical 2-window
arrangement of C19 16-pane sashes with contemporary central 6-panel door.
Immediately to left is a bay containing large C20 iron-framed casements and the
small window to left of these appears to block a former doorway. C20 garage doors
at left end. Roof is hipped each end.
Interior not available for inspection at time of survey.
