Gore House

II

House. Early to mid C19. Stuccoed, with gable end and hipped slate roof. 2-room
plan with principal room to either side of central entrance hall, with a wing to
the rear of the left-hand room. The position of the axial stack (backing onto the
passage) suggests that the present front may be a reworking of an older house.
Right-hand internal end stack, another to rear wing. 2 storeys.
Exterior. Front: almost symmetrical 3-window range: overhanging eaves with paired
shaped brackets. First floor with 6-pane hornless sash windows, that to the centre
narrower than the others; similar windows to ground floor either side of central
porch with moulded canopy and panelled posts and pilasters; panelled door with
semi-circular fanlight. Right-hand extension with garage doors, and C19 3-light
casement window above. Stair (in wing) lit by tall round-headed window, 4 panes
with margin panes, to left-hand elevation. Casement windows to rear: round-headed
doorway with fanlight.
Interior not inspected.
