3/26 The Gatehouse

II

Toll-house, now private dwelling; early C19. Coursed, squared rubble;
quoins are hammer-dressed with margins. Graduated stone flag roof has corniced
stone end chimneys. Symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay front has central plank door in
hammer-dressed surround; sashes. Single sash on ground floor returns, single
inserted window on each floor at rear of south wall.
