Farmhouse and barn now private house and garage. Early C18 with Cl9 and C20
alterations. Mixed limestone rubble walls, under graduated greenslate roof
with banded stone chimney stacks. 2-storey, 2-bay house with right projecting
3-bay barn under common roof. 3-light flat-stone-mullioned window and right
re-opened fire window, under 2-light window with mullion removed. Left C19 or
C20 red sandstone surround windows that on ground floor with chamfered stone
mullions (added by present owner). Barn has left cross-passage doorway with
recessed studded plank door. Plank doors and right C20 garage doorway in C20
opening, under C20 casement windows in original loft doorways. Rear contemporary
outshut with small original windows. See RCHM, Westmorland, 1936. Right
extension to barn is C20 and is not of interest.
