(Formerly listed as Sturtridge monument in the church yard about 9 metres southwest of south aisle of Church of St Brevita)

GV II

Headstone. C18 slate. Segmental head, the top decorated with carved symbols of
death and the resurrection, including cherubs, trumpets, skull and crossed bones,
heart pierced by arrows, hourglass, scythe, primitive cherub with trumpet and book.
Signed by Plympton, with good lettering and valedictory verses : Afflection fore long
time I bore, Physicians were in vain . . . To Benjamin Sturtridge, 1768.
