GV II

Bank. 1891; by Silvanus Trevail; for the Cornish Bank Limited; few later alterations. Granite ashlar.
Hipped slate roof behind parapet. Axial stack with brick shaft.
Plan: Banking hall and manager's accommodation, each with an entrance at the outer ends of the front. Classical style.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 6-bay front. Ground floor has fine original panelled door with overlight to right and left, each with Doric columns supporting a pediment. The central 4 bays are on a plinth with rock-faced rusticated pilasters between the windows, and entablature above; all windows are C20 plate-glass replacements. First floor has 6 plate-glass sashes in raised moulded architraves, with pilasters between the windows with pronounced entasis. Cornice and blocking course.
Interior: The bank to left has an entrance hall leading to a stair hall at the rear to left; open-well stair with turned balusters and newels with ball finials.
