Daymark (landmark) to mark an alignment with the Runnel Stone Reef. Date plaque
1821. Painted stucco on rubble core with rubble base.
Plan: Round-on-plan structure over a square-edged plinth at the front and an
irregular rubble base at the rear. The daymark is a cone over a tapered shaft
standing on a rectangular plinth. Left-hand side of plinth is painted white, right-
hand side of plinth is black; the lower part of the shaft is white with black above.
Incised inscription to plaque at rear: THIS BEACON WAS ERECTED BY THE CORPORATION OF
TRINITY HOUSE OF DEPTFORD STRAND IN 1821.
