Farmhouse, front garden walls, gate piers and railings. Resited datestone 1683, T B
G, remodelled circa late C18 and extended circa early C19. Granite ashlar front,
otherwise roughly coursed rubble and some granite ashlar. Scantle slate roofs: gable
ended roof over the original front range and hipped roof over the parallel rear
range. Probably C17 granite rubble stack over left hand gable, brick chimney over
right hand gable and later rendered chimney over the cross wall between the 2 right
hand rooms.
Plan: plan remodelled in the C18. 3 rooms along the front and probably there were
wings at right angles to the rear but remodelled in the C19. Large front room at
left and right, cross passage right of left hand room and small front room (probably
originally unheated) right of the passage. The stair hall is behind the middle room
and there is a rear service room at either side.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Regular 3 window south-west front. Wide window openings with
paired sashes to ground floor and square window openings to first floor. Flat keyed
arches over ground floor openings. Doorway towards left. C20 door and C20 horned
sashes with glazing bars.
Rear has circa early C19 16-pane hornless sash to stair hall. Blocked C17 chamfered
window opening in right hand gable end.
Interior: little altered since circa early C19. Some C18 2-panel doors and circa
early C19 open-well open-string stair with stick balusters and ramped mahogany
handrail.
Square garden at the front with high granite coped side walls and along the front a
granite plinth surmounted by iron railings and with pyramidal-headed granite
monolithic gate piers.
