Small house. Circa mid C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble and cob with left
hand gable end of local stone rubble. Circa mid C17 with C20 verandah extension
across front.
Plan: Original plan either of 2-room and passage plan with entrance to left of
centre, very small unheated service room to left and hall-kitchen to right, heated by
end stack. Alternatively the house may have been of 1-room plan heated by end stack
on right. C19 lean-to outshot to front left. In the late C20 a timber verandah
extension was added across the front with a small outshut to left.
Exterior: 2-storeys. Asymmetrical front. C20 2-light casement on each floor to right
and C19 outshut projecting on left of front with the C20 timber verandah across front
of the outshut. Rear and side elevations unaltered; the right hand end with a large
projecting stack and cloam oven projection and the left hand gable end possibly
rebuilt in the early C19 in local stone rubble. Rear elevation without openings,
facing the road.
Interior: Complete C17 chamfered and stopped floor joists and chamfered and stopped
timber lintel to fireplace.
