8/39 Farm building immediately north
- west of Merthen

Cattle shelter or cart or implement shed. Circa mid C19. Shale rubble with granite
dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof with gable ends and red clay ridge tiles
alternately raised for ventilation.
Five-bay open-fronted cattle-shelter or cart-shed with 4 square-on-plan granite
monolithic posts. These posts are not equally spaced. The narrow bay to the left
has been infilled with a stone rubble wall. The 2 right hand posts are closely
spaced and form an entrance to the right end which is partitioned off by concrete
blocks. There is a loft doorway in the left hand gable end.
The roof has a nailed soft wood structure with tie-beams on which rest floor boards
for a hay loft.
