Former house and printing office, now a shop on the ground
storey with part of the Trustee Savings Bank offices above.
C15 core, early C19 front. Timber-framed and rendered;
plaintiled roof with a paired wooden modillion eaves cornice.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar. 3 small-paned sash windows in
flush cased frames to each of the upper storeys; a raised band
beneath the 2nd storey windows. An early C20 double shop front
to the ground storey with a fascia supported on enriched
console brackets. A 6-panel side door with sunk panels and
moulded surrounds gives access to the offices above (No.16A,
qv). INTERIOR: now modernised; but during major alterations in
the 1980s heavy floor joists and good framing along the rear
wall were exposed.
