Farmhouse. Probably C17. Rendered stone rubble with cement-washed scantle slate
roof on front slope and asbestos slate roof on rear slope. At least 5 early crested
ridge tiles. Half-hipped ends with brick chimney stack in lower hipped end. Large
projecting stone rubble hall rear lateral chimney stack.
2 room and through passage plan with hall at higher end heated by lateral stack.
Unheated room added at higher end with thick stone rubble wall between hall and inner
room. Circa early C20 stair in projecting wing to rear of through passage. Possibly
position of earlier stair. Service rooms also added in this rear projecting wing.
Wing raised from 1 to 2 stories in circa 1960s.
2 storeys regular 4-window front. C20 metal 2-light casements in earlier openings.
C20 part glazed door in C20 porch to right of centre. Rear elevation with lateral
chimney stack incorporated in later lean-to outshut. Rear projecting wing of
rendered stone rubble and concrete block with slate roof with gable end. Large stone
rubble chimney stack on gable end.
Interior with through passage slate flagged. Hall fireplace partly blocked with
reused lintel. Roof timbers replaced in circa C19. Oak pegged and nailed.
