Vicarage, now house. Probably late C17 origin, refronted mid C18, with alterations
of mid C19 and some C20 alterations. Greenstone rubble with granite dressings, rear
range in slatestone and granite rubble; partly slate-hung. Hipped slate roof with
C20 brick stacks to sides in front range; rear range has half-hipped slate roof with
stacks to sides with brick shafts.
Plan: The rear range may originally have been a 3-room plan. In the mid C18, the
front range was built, of 2-room plan, with principal room to front left and right
and central entrance hall leading to rear stair hall.
Exterior: 2 storeys on moulded granite plinth, symmetrical 3-window front; granite
quoins, first floor granite band course, ground floor in roughly coursed stone,
slate-hung above the band course, with modillion eaves cornice. First floor has
three C18 12-pane sashes with sidelights, with flat stone arches with dressed
voussoirs. Ground floor has central C20 portico, with inner half-glazed door, C18
12-pane sash with sidelights to right and left, with cambered stone heads. Left side
of the front range is slate-hung, with small C20 lean-to. Rear range rendered, with
20-pane sash at first floor. Right side of the front range in random rubble, with
12-pane sash at first floor to right. Rear range has wide external stack with small
lean-to at the base, possibly an oven. The rear is rendered, with a single storey
rubble lean-to to centre with C20 door. Ground floor left has 16-pane sash, first
floor 3 C20 lights.
Interior: Not inspected. The ground floor windows in the front range have panelled
shutters.
