House. Early C19, with C19 and C20 alterations. Stone rubble, rendered and lined
out. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks, with brick shaft
to right and rendered shaft to left.
Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance, principal room to front left and
right, each heated from a gable end stack. The room to left had a shop inserted in
circa late C19, now part of the house again. Shallow rear service rooms.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-window front. First floor has C18 12-pane sashes
in exposed boxes. Ground floor has central C20 door, with large margin-glazed
overlight. 12-pane sash in plain reveal to right. Small canted bay to left with
plate-glass windows and cornice. The fascia and cornice at ground floor are
continuous with No. 9 (q.v.). Left side in slatestone rubble with single light at
first floor to left.
