House, early/mid C18, with early C19 left extension. Now 3 houses. Brick;
Lakeland slate roof, renewed with Welsh slates, and concrete tiles on rear
pitches, on Nos. 8 and 10. 2 storeys, 4 windows. 6-panel door and
overlight with glazing bars in 2nd bay. Similar door and overlight in
former window opening at right. Sash windows with glazing bars. All
openings have gauged brick flat arches. 2-course stepped brick bands
between floors and at eaves. End stacks. Similar 2-storey, one-bay
extension, with basement. Window renewed on ground floor. Roof hipped at
left end. Left return has off-centre renewed 6-panel door and overlight
with glazing bars, under timber bracketed and gabled hood, up 3 steps.
15-pane horizontal sash window at left. Sash with glazing bars at right and
3 similar on first floor, that at right renewed. All windows have gauged
brick flat arches. Left end stack. Right-hand part of No. 7 The Cottages,
g.v. now part of No. 8. Interior: moulded ceiling cornices in
ground-floor rooms. 2-panel doors with "H" hinges, in No. 8.
