Pair of estate cottages: dated 1872 for Stanley family. Flemish bond
red brick with purple headers and red sandstone dressings.
Half-hipped roof with bands of purple tiles and fish scale red tiles,
and a large central brick chimney. T-shaped plan. 2-storey,
symmetrical, 4-bay front. End bays have 7-board doors in chamfered
stone doorcases behind the downswept roof oversailing on wooden
brackets. Central bays have 4-light chamfered stone mullioned windows
in heavy surrounds under brick relieving arches. Above are 3-light
wooden casements in timber framed gabled dormers.
