3/7 Bank Top Cottage.

House 1690 extended probably late C18, of red coursed rubble gritstone
with Kerridge stone-slate roof and stone chimneys. The 1690 portion
(left) is of 2 storeys and 2 windows with central lobby-entrance
doorway surmounted by datestone ET ET 1690. Late C19 4-panel door.
Altered window-openings under C17 labels contain wood casements,
probably late C19, 3-light, 2 panes per light in lower storey,
2-light, 4 panes per light in upper. At rear is a blocked window
opening with 3 chamfered mullions of stone. The C18 cross gabled wing
has label now over window, perhaps to staircase formerly behind its
gable stack; the right end has window and door to lower storey, 2
windows to upper; the position of door moved from left to right.
The interior has baffle-entrance, altered inglenook, four
tongue-stopped ovolo beams of oak, single-flight stair (treads
renewed) with 2 good turned oak balusters per step and heavy moulded
handrail, oak purlins (some exposed in bedrooms) and some oak rafters.
