SHROPSHIRE UNION CANAL

6/5 Baddiley Lock No.2

Canal lock,1805 by J Fletcher, Engineer (consultant Thomas Telford).
Blue and red brick in English Bond with stone dressing. Single,
replaced, metal upper (south) gate, with some old winding gear. The
pair of wooden gates and beams (north) carry a 1958 replacement date.
Swept approach walls and lock side walls still have most of the
original stone dressings.
