Farmhouse. Circa C16 stone rubble house with dressed quoins. Thatched roof with
hipped and gabled ends. Two storeys. Four window range. Renewed casements with
glazing bars. Two storey stone porch to left of centre with hipped thatched roof
and segmental brick arch with keystone, inner studded plank door. Stone chimney
stack at lower gable end. Wing to north-east with half hipped roof and five light
ovolo moulded wooden mullion window. Catslide thatched roof over outshut at rear
with wooden mullion windows. Including single storey outbuilding adjoining
south-east at right angles and backing onto road, also with thatched roof, partly
rendered, and has three light ovolo moulded wooden mullion window.
Interior: Roof trusses concealed. Timber frame screen to cross passage with
cambered head doorway to hall. Cambered chamfered bressummer to fireplace at lower
end. Stopped chamfer ceiling beams. Kitchen at lower end with two cambered head
doorways in north rear wall to pair of service rooms in an integral lean-to. Solid
tread newel stairs from kitchen. Cambered head to doorway in first floor room.
North wing has plank and muntin screen and fireplace on first floor with cambered
bressummer. Report in NMR.
