SS 90 SE BROADCLYST BEARE

of Beare Farmhouse

Barn and linhay. Possibly C17 in part with substantial C19 modifications. Random
rubble volcanic trap under dry-slate gabled end roof. L-shaped plan. The range
running parallel to house is the main barn, with a catslide roof over a
weatherboarded outshut, and contains a cider press. The range at right angles to
this is a 6-bay linhay with a front wagon entrance to farmyard, and another to main
road. C19 roof, principals with king-post, diagonal struts and tie-beam.
