House, formerly a farmhouse. Probably C18.

MATERIALS: Whitewashed and rendered with a slate roof.

PLAN: Appears to be a single-depth plan, two rooms wide with the left hand room being slightly smaller.

EXTERIOR: Two storey farmhouse with gable end stacks. The external stack to the left end has set-offs. The front (south) elevation has an asymmetrical three window arrangement to the ground and first floor. The windows are C19 casements with three panes per light. There is a deep lean-to porch to the front which is to the left of centre. It has a slate roof and a wide plank front door. The outbuilding adjoining at the right end has a blocked doorway to the front.

INTERIOR: Not inspected.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: Burnell Cottage is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
Architectural Value: A good example of an C18 vernacular cottage which retains a significant proportion of its historic fabric including its external stack with set-offs
