Railway overbridge
250 metres south-west
of Birley Farm

Railway overbridge. c1840 for the North Midland Railway
Company. Regularly coursed coal measures sandstone with ashlar
dressings, and brick linings to arches. Double segmental
arches, with ashlar voussoirs and projecting keyblock. Central
pier with pointed and domed ashlar cutwater. Bold roll moulding
to the heads of the arches, and the remains of a shallow parapet
which has been altered to incorporate modern parapet railings.
Birley Farm is not included in this list.
