Mile post. Early C19. Cast iron. Triangular section base, with moulded front angle..
curving upwards to form flat back with segmental head. North side inscribed:
'ASHBOURNE/13 MILES' and 'J HAYWOOD JNR/PHOENIX WORKS/DERBY'. South side inscribed:
'BUXTON/7 MILES' and 'J HAYWOOD JNR/PHOENIX WORKS/DERBY'. Front inscribed: 'LONDON'
in large letters in arc. Below: '152 MILES/DERBY/26 MILES'. Below again, on
horizontal section, raised area inscribed 'HARTINGTON PARISH'.
