Late C19, rebuild of a C18 house. The south elevaton is the best and is
of 2 storeys, stuccoed, with a parapet extending round a compassed bay
window facing west. Peg-tiled roof mounting 2 tall, elegant, red brick
chimneys. Three dormers behind the parapet with compassed tops and pairs
of small-paned casements. Then an eaves-band above a range of 5 small-paned
hornless sashes. The ground storey has a semi-hexagonal bay window with
a copper-clad double ogee roof and full height small-paned casements.
Two matching sashes either side. West front U-planned with 2 compassed
bays at left and right each with coped parapets and 3 small paned hornless
sashes on both storeys. Between these bays an Ionic, 2 column portico
with fretted balustrade at first floor level. East front basically H-plan,
of 2 storeys with attics and numerous dormers variously shaped, all windows
small-paned hornless sashes. Centrally, in the recess, a Neo-Classical
porch, semi-hexagonal on plan with broken swan-necked pediment. Inside:
some wide panelled, C18 door-leaves and a good dog-legged hardwood stair
and hand rail.
