Listing Text

Post Office Stores

Shop. C15 cross-wing, two late C17 or early C18 parallel ranges. Timber framed,
faced in yellow stock brickwork, painted on front, rear and north flank. Red plain
tile hipped roofs. 2 storeys. 3 window range and modern shopfront to parallel wing,
4 window range and door to cross-wing south flank, all windows blocked up. One
chimney stack to cross-wing, one to rear parallel wing, both truncated at roof ridge.
Internally most of the roof timbers of the cross-wing remain including a cross-
quadrate crown post. Probably the cross-wing was originally gabled rather than hipped
as at present.
