Gv II

Tomb, 1800, in Early English style. Limestone. Gabled, with 3 blind trefoil
arches at each end, and engaged columns with moulded capitals and bases. At
each side 6 similar arches with continuous label and foliate stops. Moulded
base. Roof of overlapping stone slabs. Cross with diagonal links at W end
of ridge, Latin cross (damaged) at E end. Inscription to Mary, wife of Joseph
French of Little Burstead, Essex, died 1800. Length (E to W) 2.84 metres, width
1.75 metres, height (estimated) 3.50 metres.
