Cottage. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and plastered with thatched roof,
gabled at west and hipped down to lower single storey outhouse at east. One
storey and attics with thatched lean-to on north side. 4 eyebrow dormers on
south roof slope and small square and large 'L' plan stack behind ridgeline.
Windows are C19 leaded light casements. Former small open hall house with in-
line floored end at east end. Cambered tie beam with remains of simple
collar/rafter roof and traces of large hall window. Early stack with moulded
brick shelf over timber mantel beam. The 2 bays to the west are successively
later extensions. Halved and bridled scarf joints in top plate of first phase.
