TL 73 NW TOPPESFIELD
3/8 Quy's Farmhouse

House, C17, extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered with some exposed
framing, roof thatched. 4 bays aligned approx. E-W with central chimney stack
and C19/20 chimney stack at each end. C20 extension to N, forming an irregular
T-plan. Single storey with attics. S elevation, C20 porch, 4 C20 casement
windows with external hinged shutters on 2 only; 2 C20 casement windows in
eyebrow dormers; all with rectangular leading. Grouped diagonal shafts on
central stack, rebuilt at top. The framing exposed at the front is partly
imitation. The interior has some exposed framing, chamfered axial beams and
plain joists of flat section in western part.
