4/91 Hope Cottage
House. C17. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched. 4 bays facing E with
stack against rear wall near middle, forming a lobby-entrance. C20 rear
extension from right end. One storey with attics. 2 C20 casements, and C18
wrought iron casements, one of 2 lights, one of one light, and one of 2 lights
in a gabled dormer. C20 door. Other C18 windows elsewhere, in left return wall
one of 3 lights and one of one light, and re-sited in gable end of C20
extension, one C17 wrought iron casement. The interior has a large wood-burning
hearth facing N, chamfered axial beams with exposed plain joists of horizontal
section, and exposed heavy studding with straight bracing.
