TL 64 SE HELIONS BUMPSTEAD PALE GREEN

GV II

House, early C17 or earlier. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched. 4 bays
aligned NE-SW, aspect NW, with chimney stack against rear wall, forming a lobby-
entrance. Single storey extension to SW, C20. Single storey with attics. C20
door, 4 C20 casement windows, one C19 casement window in swept dormer. In NE
end, plain-chamfered axial beam with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists of
horizontal section. In S W end, plain-chamfered axial beam with joists of
thinner section. 2 large wood-burning hearths of 33cm. brickwork, original.
