House, early C17 or earlier, altered in C18 and C19. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 4 bays aligned NW-SE, aspect NE, with
axial chimney stack in second bay from SE, forming lobby entrance, and external
chimney stack at NW end. 2 rear wings, and lean-to extension in W angle. 2
storeys. 6-panel door with top 2 glazed in Tuscan porch, one tripartite double-
hung sash window of 2-4-2 lights, late C19, and 3 double-hung sash windows of 4
lights, late C19. First floor, 5 similar sash windows. In base of main chimney
stack there are 2 recessed panels with the date 1614 inscribed in modern
plaster. It has 4 octagonal shafts, rebuilt at the top. Roof hipped at SE end
only. RCHM 19.
