railings

GV II

House on end of row. Mid C18, extensively altered c1830. Random
and coursed rubble limestone; ashlar and artificial stone rebuilt
chimneys; Welsh slate roof. Two-storey with attic; 2-storey
rear wing and parallel rear range. Front: 2-window fenestration
under linking hoodmoulds, all 12-pane sashes. Doorway with
chamfered opening to right with C20 door. Eaves raised in later
coursed rubble. Two ridge-mounted chimneys. Spear topped
railings attached to north east corner are terminated by ashlar
limestone pier. East end: gable end with scattered off-centre
fenestration including 12-pane sash to ground floor and 16-pane
attic sash. C19 brick wing to left, now painted, with mixed
casement fenestration. Interior not inspected. Forms part of
group with The Cottage (q.v.).
