Includes Hodge Carpet saleroom, Paul Street.
One building. Probably late C19. 2 storeys on Fore Street, one storey to rear.
painted brick, banded quoins. Cornice and parapet, pier with volutes on parapet
to left. 3 windows, sashes without glazing bars. The side elevation in Paul Street
has similar detail. High painted brick parapet with large urns is attached to
left side. Shop front on Fore Street is joined to a continuous range of shop fronts
running down Paul Street. Dentilled cornice over plain fascia supported by pilasters
and 1/2 columns (paired 3/4-columns in Paul Street). Modern shop glazing.

No 1A Billet Street, No 66 The County Hotel, the Brendon Bar and No "8ยจ East Street,
form an important group with the listed buildings in Cheapside, Fore Street and the
Parade.
