Former Poor Law Institution. Probably mid C19. 3 storey front facing south with
centre section coming forward. Slate roof with imitation pediment to centre. Eaves
with paired wooden brackets at corners. Yellow brick, ashlar dressings. Banded
quoins and moulded stringcourse over ground floor. 4-3-4 windows with architrave
surrounds above and banded surrounds with sills on curved brackets to round headed
ground floor windows. Sashes with glazing bars. Central round headed doorway.
To rear are attached 3 surviving wings of the original building radiating from
a central hut. These are considerably altered and are not included.
