GV II

Inn, Early C19. Ham stone ashlar facade, coursed rubble to sides and rear; Welsh slate roof between high stepped coped
gables, suggesting former thatch; brick end chimney stacks, one rendered. Two storeys, 2 bays. Small-pane 3-light
casement windows with voussoired flat-arched heads; C20 central porch with slate roof and part-glazed door. Interior
not seen. Attached to No 42 (qv) but set back, and included primarily for group value. Recorded as an inn by 1866 (VCH
Somerset, Vol IV, 1978, p53).
