Circa 1600 timber framed house of 2 storeys and attic, one window under
steep gable with carved bargeboards. Plastered front. Overhanging
attic storey, supported on carved beam, has early C19 sash window with
glazing bars in slightly projecting, segment headed box frame. 1st floor
window is a modern casement and ground floor has unobtrusive modern shop
front.
Inside. very heavy posts and beams exposed, including tie beams at either
end of 1st floor. Early Cl7, rectangular well staircase with very heavy
turned balusters, square handrail and moulded string. Also 2 panelled
Dutch doors with original hinges and latches. Heavy, exposed rafters on
2nd floor.
Weatherboarded rear extension with hipped gable.

Nos 14 to 18 (even) form a group.
