House. C17 or earlier. Timber frame on knapped flint sill, frame exposed
with plastered infill panels. Steep old red tile roof. A 1 1/2-storeys,
3-cells, internal-chimney plan house, facing S, with W gable against
road. Chimney with 2 diagonally set square conjoined shafts a third from
W end with added shaft on E. Internal E gable chimney next brick gable
parapet. Short single-storey extension on roadside at S side. Battened
door under lean-to open timber porch on S. 2 gabled dormers on S and 3
on N side. 2- and 3-lights casement windows. Small roughcast porch on N
side with hipped tile roof. W gable at an angle to axis of house
following line of road. Jowled posts and full-height studs. (Pevsner
(1977)148).
