Farmhouse and adjoining outbuilding. C15 or earlier origins, altered C17 and
mid-C19. Timber-framed and coursed rubble with brick replacement walling,
stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing courses with brick ridge stack at north-
east end. Former cruck hall house of probably four framed bays aligned north-
east/south-west. Single storey and attic with dormers. Framing: no framing
visible externally. South-west front elevation: windows are mainly C19 case-
ments. There is a pair of 2-light windows, a square window and another 2-light
window on the ground floor and a central gabled dormer with a 2-light window
and a single-light window. Main entrance to right has a C19 ledged and battened
door. Also C19 external brick chimney at junction of bays one and two. Lean-
to outshut with catslide roof at rear. Interior: it was not possible to inspect
the interior at time of survey (July 1986). However it is recorded to retain
three cruck trusses. Outbuilding adjoins north-east end. Probably C17. Timber-
framed on rubble base, weatherboarded with stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing
courses. Three framed bays. Two levels. South-west elevation has two loft
openings, three doors and a stable door with a transom light. Lean-to outshut
with catslide roof at rear. Interior: wall-framing has one row of rectangular
panels and a row of square panels from sill to wall-plate. Collar and tie-beam
trusses with struts throughout apart from one intermediate tie-beam truss with
raking struts; two tiers of trenched purlins. (RCHM, III, p 24, item 10;
