House. C17, remodelled mid-C19 with mid-C20 alterations. Part timber-framed
with brick infill and brick replacement walling, part brick; plain tiled roofs.
U-shaped plan; main three-bay part aligned north/south has large chimney with
brick ridge stack at the north end of the central bay and a south gable end
external chimney; probably former rear elevation to west has a single-bay
timber-framed north wing and a small C19 south wing with a gable end chimney
and lean-to addition. Part single storey and attic with dormers, part two-
storey with dentilled eaves cornice. Framing: three rows of panels from sill
to wall-plate; west gable end has collar and tie-beam truss with two struts
and V-strut in apex. West entrance elevation: central part has a 4-light
first-floor casement and, below, a C19 gabled porch in a brick base with a
ledged and battened door; left gable end has an attic light with a plank
weathering, and two 2-light casements on the ground floor and a flat-roofed
dormer with a 2-light casement in the angle with the main part. Interior:
main beams are stop-chamfered; winder staircase in timber-framed wing; large
fireplace in central bay of main part.
