House, now 2 shops. C18. Red brick with rendered plinth, pantile roof
and gable-end chimney to right. Sides of passage have light timber
spacers between brick panels, 3 storeys. 2 first-and-second-floor windows
and one blind window to each floor above passage entrance to Norris
Court Gardens with plank door and rubbed brick arch, flanked by two
half-glazed doors. No. 39 has simple doorcase with ribbed pilasters.
Doorcase of No. 37 has been incorporated in C19 shop-front with round-
section mullions and transoms, the tops of the mullions decorated with
grapes. Sash windows under flat rubbed brick arches throughout; those
of No. 39 have glazing bars; larger panes to No. 37, No. 39 has 2 cast-iron
plaques: H/S.P/1834 and H/S.P/1814.
