GV II

Former garden house forming part of the kitchen garden enclosure. Late C18.
Brick with brick dentil cornice and parapet. Tile roof with brick end
chimneys. Parapet surmounted by 3 stone busts, put back in 1984. Central
staircase plan. Symmetrical main frontage to kitchen garden: 2 storeys and
attic with 3 roof dormers; 3-window range. Central entrance has double-leaf
half-glazed doors in simple wood classical doorcase of pilaster strips,
entablature and cornice. Casements with glazing bars under segmental brick
arches. Main entrance to rear. Interior restored and remodelled after 1957.
Mid/late C20 additions.
