Heather Cottage

G.V. II

Cottage. Early C18, altered C19 and C20. Coursed limestone
rubble, ashlar quoins, pantile roof, crested ridge-tiles, 2 stone
gable stacks with moulded tops. Single storey plus attics, 3 bay
front, having central half glazed door with bordered light,
flanked by triple 3 light plain casements under concrete lintels.
Beyond to the right small pointed re-used medieval niche. Over
the door a panel containing the "A" for Ancaster with coronet.
In the roof 2 gabled dormers having plain casements and rendered
cheeks. Included for group value only.
