1824. Originally built as a law office. A good front of some importance. Red
brick with stone bands and plinth. No frieze but stone coped parapet with shaped
centre. The bases of 3 pedestals remain on the parapet but whatever they supported
has gone. Slate roof. 3 storeys. 3 windows. Arcaded ground floor with windows
set in arcades (windows flat red brick gauged arches). Building advanced below
shaped centre of parapet and centre windows are specially treated. Top floor has
stone framed round lunette with tracery, 1st floor window a round traceried head,
impost bands and a panel of stone balusters above. Sashes with glazing bars. Recessed
centre door with fanlight. Ref VCH.
