BISHOPS TACHBROOK Banbury Road

Barn. Early C18 with minor C20 alterations. Timber-framed with brick infill
and plinth and plain-tile roof, half-hipped to left end. 4 bays. Opposing cart
doorways in 2nd bay from right, that to rear blocked C20. 2 single doors on
opposing sides at opposite ends. Square panel framing with some braces mostly
with brick infill but C20 windows inserted to fill some panels. The framing on
right end has mostly been replaced in brick below the tie beam. Interior: 2
queen-post and 1 queen-strut trusses with clasped principals and ridge piece.
Majority of trenched purlins in 2 tiers original, rest renewed C20. Other
farmbuildings attached are not of special architectural interest.
