Barn. Mid-C17 with C18 alterations. Timber framed on red sandstone plinth
with red brick nogging, partly rebuilt in red brick. Plain tile roof.
Framing: square panels (3 from sole plate to wall plate) with long straight
tension braces. South end wall rebuilt in brick with tiers-of vents.
Boarded door to left and loft door. Exposed tie-beam truss with 2 collars.
Interior: collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and V-struts. Angle
braces. This barn was probably formerly part of the farmbuildings belonging to
the old Colehurst Manor (q.v.). The 1970's farmhouse to the west of the barn,
also called Colehurst Manor, is not included on this list.
