Row of 4 cottages. Late C18, posssibly with earlier elements. Limestone and
marlstone rubble with wooden lintels; Welsh-slate roof with brick ridge stacks.
One- and 2-unit plans, probably with rear outshuts. 2 storeys. Cottages have
2-window fronts: the outer cottages with central doors between 3-light
casements; the inner pair with adjoining doors and one ground floor casement.
First-floor windows all of 2 lights. All casements are old and most retain
leaded glazing. The Old Forge has stop-chamfered lintels, and Beech View Cottage
has a heavy chamfered oak doorframe. Shallow-pitched half-hipped roof has 2
shared stacks. Interiors not inspected. Included for group value.
