with attached gatepiers,
gate and outbuildings

GV ll


Yard walls with gatepiers, gate and outbuildings. Early C19 except for C18
or earlier south wall. Squared stone except for rubble south wall; stone
slate roofs; wrought iron gates. Monolithic square piers with stop-chamfered
angles and moulded pyramidal caps hold gates with spearhead bars and dogbars.
Flat-coped wall on north links to Hall (q.v.). On south flat-coped wall with
pent outbuilding against inner face. Taller flat-coped wall on south of yard
links on west to Groom's Cottage (q.v.); boarded door near west end, attached
privy near east end linking to storehouse with boarded double doors under
timber lintel on west, and returns with coped gables.
