Moulded base, fluted shaft with swept foot, ladder rests, circular head with
domed cover. Plates on base with maker's name and'J.E. WEBBS PATENT SEWER GAS
DESTRUCTOR'.

Originally used for methane from sewers, prior to introduction of coal gas.
