Large house, C17 and C18 with later additions and alterations. Coursed, squared
rubble; front has rusticated end pilasters, bands between floors, and cavetto
moulding to eaves. Graduated slate roof has corniced stone mid and end
chimneys, copings and kneelers. 'L'-shaped plan. Symmetrical front of 2
storeys with attic; 5 bays. Former pedimented doorcase in centre now window
with C20 coat of arms above; 2 sashes to either side and 5 above, all with
glazing bars in stone surrounds. Attic windows C20 casements; re-used medieval
windows in gables. Earlier wing to rear has C17 mullioned windows of more than
one build. Door on east side has coat of arms above dated 1658; rainwater head
to extreme right dated 1794. Large semicircular bay window added on west side
in C20.
